Having performed more than 13,000 laser vision correction procedures, Dr. Sheth is a highly skilled and respected surgeon at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School, and is considered to be a leader in the field of refractive eye surgery.
How KAMRA Works
During the 20-minute procedure, a mini-ring smaller and thinner than a contact lens is inserted under the surface of the cornea over the pupil. The ring directs light through the narrow opening, and focuses it precisely on the retina for clear near vision. No stitches are required, and the patient is treated with prescription drops to aid in healing.
Who should consider KAMRA?
The ideal patient for the KAMRA inlay are adults between 45 and 60 who have near vision loss due to presbyopia, the eye's inability to focus that naturally occurs and eventually happens to everyone.
