POTOMAC, Md., March 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- VideoKall, Inc. announces that it has elected Dr. Richard A. Moran, President, Menlo College in Atherton, CA as a member of its Board of Directors.
Dr. Moran is a noted San Francisco-based business leader, venture capitalist, social scientist, author and evangelist for organization effectiveness, and will bring value and focus to the Company in the preparation of launching its MEDEX SPOT unmanned micro-cabin and system.
Dr. Moran joins the Board at a time when the company has initiated a joint program with Northeastern University in Boston, MA where a team lead by Professor Tom Webster, who is also the President of the US Society for Bio Materials, is preparing for user trials based upon customer commitments.
Dr. Moran added, "MEDEX SPOT is a disruptive approach to healthcare which will greatly improve healthcare access, and significantly lower costs of providing outpatient and diagnostic services. This is an exciting time for me to join VideoKall and participate in its success."
The shift in preparing for market introduction comes just a year after the award by the US Patent and Trademark Office for the automatic and robotically-controlled seat back stethoscope system. This allows a medical professional at a remote hospital or clinic-based Call Center to position a stethoscope anywhere on a patient's back in its self-service, telehealth-assisted, MEDEX SPOT "unmanned micro-clinic" cabin.
Professor Webster said, "I am committed to host and help support the MEDEX SPOT Cabin prototype in my research lab on the Northeastern campus in Boston, which is close to the top hospitals in the world, constantly looking for innovation."
"We are pleased to have Dr. Moran," added Vince Waterson, the Chairman of the company and co-founder. "He is well accomplished in many fields, and recognizes that we will solve one of healthcare's real objectives: To bring down the cost of healthcare, and improve access to healthcare in urban, suburban and rural areas."
Dr. David Scher, Cardiologist and Advisor to the Company added, "Convenient, low-cost, quality telehealth is like the 'Holy Grail' of healthcare, which will encourage early and frequent care, and overall better health for chronically ill patients and the population, in general."
"Our Unmanned Micro Clinic technology is proven in a working prototype and our joint program with a leading university and with our manufacturing partners will bring these benefits to the market in the next year. We have designed the system so that a perfect stranger, on a single visit, can be triaged, assessed and treated, and if warranted, obtain a prescription around 'the corner'," says Charlie Nahabedian, CEO and co-founder, who has been leading the company into healthcare.
Dr. Scher added, "Telehealth has heretofore been focused on recreating traditional business models in a digital and mobile format. MEDEX SPOT offers this, as providing a white labeled healthcare offering with nimble interoperability for primary care or specialty encounters. Their patented technology clearly places them ahead of others in the field. MEDEX SPOT addresses needs of consumer/patients, payers, providers, retail healthcare and public health."
VideoKall, Inc. and its MEDEX SPOT program is based in Potomac, Maryland with offices in Ventura, CA and Chesterfield, UK. Their healthcare solution is based upon market research focused on prospective patients, healthcare professionals, and telehealth and telecom executives. In addition to their own resources, VideoKall, Inc. is partnering with other companies to manufacture, operate and support their low-cost services in an evolving integrated healthcare industry.
