NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Changing Our World announced today that Executive Vice President, Dr. Susan Raymond, will take on the role of Chief Operating Officer of Edmundite Missions Enterprises and Chief Innovation Officer of Edmundite Missions of Selma, Alabama. Dr. Raymond will continue as a senior advisor to Changing Our World.
"This is an inspired next step in Susan's illustrious career," said Brian Crimmins, Chief Executive Officer of Changing Our World. "As a founder of our firm and a pioneer in the field of evidence-based philanthropy and nonprofit management consulting, Susan has transformed not just the way we operate at Changing Our World, but the whole philanthropy field. Now, she will be applying her wide-ranging research, social enterprise, fundraising and management expertise to confront the on-the-ground challenges of poverty alleviation. We are fortunate to share with her in this journey and to continue our work with her as a consultant to our firm."
Over the past three years, Changing Our World – under Dr. Raymond's leadership – has guided Edmundite Missions as it plans its programmatic portfolio for the future, creating a plan to double its charitable services offerings and designing the funding development strategy to support this program expansion. In Dr. Raymond's new role, she will work with Edmundite Missions to lead the structuring of new programs in youth services, employment and housing, as well as a social enterprise that will capitalize on the food preparation and production capacity of the Bosco Nutrition Center.
"Edmundite Missions and Edmundite Missions Enterprises are excited to build on the seminal work we have accomplished in partnership with Changing Our World, and welcome Susan," said Chad McEachern, President and CEO of Edmundite Missions. "We have made great headway in developing a new model for financing poverty alleviation in the Deep South, and we look forward to continued partnership as we transform the Missions in meeting the needs of the poor, providing a pathway to self-reliance for the families we serve, and creating a model for Catholic philanthropy addressing poverty nationwide."
Dr. Raymond, a recent recipient of the Patty and John Noel Humanitarian Award, is an established author on philanthropy, economics, health care and corporate responsibility, as well as a regular international conference speaker on the future role of philanthropy in economic growth and civil society. For more than 30 years, she has worked on philanthropy and economic development projects throughout Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, as well as in Russia and Asia. Notably, she served as a project officer at the World Bank; a senior consultant to the U.S. Agency for International Development; the foreign policy and research advisor to the bipartisan Congressional Commission studying the effectiveness of public and private foreign assistance; and as a faculty lecturer at the Institute of Human Nutrition at Columbia University.
Dr. Raymond will continue to contribute to Changing Our World's thought leadership and to provide client services on a select basis.

About Edmundite Missions
Edmundite Missions was founded by the Society of St. Edmund 80 years ago to evangelize and serve poverty-stricken communities of the Deep South. What began in 1937 as a courageous fight for victims of discrimination in Alabama's Black Belt quickly broadened to include outreach ministries of compassion providing essential daily needs of food, clothing and shelter to the thousands stricken by extreme poverty. Guided today by our mission statement, founder's motto and the faithfulness of our donors, we continue our life impacting work of addressing the overwhelming prevalence of homelessness, extreme poverty and hunger within the region.
