Dry Fried Wings and Shaq Take Ft. Lauderdale By Storm Da Vinci's shatters 13-year sales records during weekend celebration
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dry Fried Wings (OTC: EEDG) made an imposing South Florida debut this past weekend, bringing massive crowds, wall-to-wall media coverage, and record shattering sales to Da Vinci's Pizzeria in Ft. Lauderdale.
With an assist from NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal and other local sports and entertainment stars, the neighborhood pizzeria on Galt Ocean Mile saw wings and beer sales skyrocket, with revenue from both up 770% over this weekend last year, and 350% over Da Vinci's previous all-time best. Overall weekend revenues shattered their previous 13 year record by more than 55%.
"We were confident that dry fried wings were going to be big, but we were amazed by the response," said Da Vinci co-owner Dominick Scarfo. "We sold more wings in three days than we did in the past six weeks combined. Most importantly, practically everyone that tried them absolutely loved them and we're already seeing many of the same faces returning to our store every day. These wings are truly flying out the door."
Customers packed Scarfo's store and filled his parking lot for hours, enjoying the wings with their favorite beverage and mingling with the likes of Mercury Morris, Jim Kiick, Mark Duper, OJ McDuffie, and Michael Lohan throughout the weekend.
"We knew we had a tremendous product," said Dry Fried Wing Company's co-founder Dr. Benjamin Chavis. "Dom's numbers clearly illustrate the incredible difference Dry Fried Wings can make as a co-branded concept – and how easy it is for an existing operation to add them."
Citing extensive media coverage, including several front-page stories in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel as well as news segments on Fox7 and Spanish Channel GENTV, Chavis said, "Wings are probably the hottest item in foodservice, and this demonstrates the growing appetite for our new wing sensation. In San Francisco people line up for wings like this seven days a week, all year round, and we believe we've built the team that can duplicate that across America."
The Dry Fried Wing Company is the licensor and franchisor of "Dry Fried Wings, The San Francisco Sensation". The Company is utilizing its co-branding expertise and top level food service connections to gain immediate access into the world's busiest and highest profile locations including major airports, travel plazas, college campuses, malls, arenas and stadiums.
