DSEI Opens a Window on World Markets for US Defense and Security Companies
LONDON, May 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
'As a company that is looking to bring innovative new products to the aerospace, defense and security sectors, Tweddle Group had no hesitation in choosing to exhibit at the 2013 DSEI Show.' So says Holger Blum, Director of Corporate Development for Tweddle Group, the international automotive communications and publishing solutions firm headquartered in Michigan. Tweddle Group is one of more than 50 US companies that will be exhibiting for the first time at DSEI, the global exhibition of air, land and maritime applications of defense and security products and technologies. The event takes place at ExCeL London from September 10 - 13.
With recent sequestration defense measures now biting hard it is imperative for US defense companies to focus on exports to sustain their order books. Hence the keen interest in DSEI 2013, which is expected to attract in the region of 30,000 visitors from established and emerging defense and security markets around the world.
But it's not just the newcomers to DSEI who are focusing on growing their export business. Major players such as General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon are long established exhibitors at this global event.
Throughout the last 18 months the DSEI organizers have been engaging directly with government buyers and decision makers from the key growth markets of Latin America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, as well as the more traditional markets of North America and Europe. They are confident that this will result in strengthened international attendance by senior representatives from a diversity of nations, including Australia, Brazil, Chile, India, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia and the UAE.
Visitors will be able see a broad spectrum of US capabilities, including air guidance units; rescue, safety and survival systems; national infrastructure and security solutions; remote weapons systems; power supplies; ruggedized computers and displays; logistics and communications.
DSEI Event Director, Duncan Reid, said: 'The feedback we are getting from US companies that are committing to DSEI for the first time, or are returning exhibitors, is that the show's ability to offer global access to new markets and revenue streams is very clearly recognized.'
This view was endorsed by Chuck Jones, Director of International Programmes, Aerojet, a major space and defense contractor specializing in missile and space propulsion, who said, 'DSEI is a strategic opportunity for meetings and business development outreach. The venue, attendee list and timing make it Aerojet's most important 2013 international defense show.'
