According to Dr. Mouza Al Sharhan, President of The Emirates Pathology Society, President of the Emirates Medical Association, and Council Member of the Arab Division, "The practice of Anatomical Pathology mostly involves making microscopic diagnoses, often of serious diseases, in which in-depth clinical and basic science knowledge is required."
"Today, the anatomical pathologist's findings are fundamental to medical diagnosis, where up to 70% of clinical decisions related to patient management and research, are based on laboratory test results. It is our task as experienced pathologists to provide accurate, specific, and sufficiently comprehensive diagnosis, to enable the clinician to develop an optimal plan of treatment for the patients." Dr. Mouza said.
"Anatomical pathologists work with almost all medical specialties, including surgeons and general practitioners, using available techniques to provide information and advice that is essential to the clinical practice." "That is why collaboration with medical and surgical subspecialists has never been so crucial as it is today, since the Pathologist's diagnosis can profoundly determine the type and extent of subsequent patient treatment." She added.
The Pathology Society anticipates over 300 delegates from around the world, including leaders, board members and faculty of Arab Pathology Organizations and leading international speakers. Over 30 faculty members and luminaries in the field will gather to discuss over 100 research papers and state-of-the-art practice in Anatomic Pathology through keynote talks, case discussions, workshops and interactive sessions.
"I would like to thank my colleagues members of the scientific committee for putting together such a rich scientific and education program, to an international caliber, which will focus on: Breast Pathology, Neuropathology, Genitourinary / Nephropathology, Female Reproductive Pathology, Pediatric Pathology, and Digital Pathology. Two pre-conference workshops, Dermatopathology and Haematopathology, complete the course offerings." Dr. Al Sharhan said.
"I would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the (IAP-AD), The Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Business Events and all supporting organizations for helping bring to live ESPC 2015 to such a world class standard.
