Dubsmash Launches Community Moments
You can now watch Dubs from the community directly inside the app. Launch Partner, Warner Brothers, will feature content from its new film, Storks.
BERLIN, Sept. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Dubsmash, the popular video messaging app fueled by more than 18+ million sounds, launched a brand new way to for its community to get inspired and enjoy Dubs inside the app.
From within the Dubsmash app, users will have the ability to engage with Community Moments, collections of user-generated videos centered around key themes that resonate with the community. The new feature marks the first time users can watch videos from the larger Dubsmash community, and not just people they are directly connected with.
To be a part of a Community Moment, users can access the corresponding Soundboard and submit their Dub. Maintaining the strong core value of user-privacy, only Dubs explicitly submitted to a Public Moment will have the chance to be featured.
"What our users love about Dubsmash is the combination of familiar, iconic audio content and the authenticity of unfiltered user generated video," said Suchit Dash, President of Dubsmash. "The channels will highlight some of the best Dubsmash has to offer, and for the first time allow our users to interact and contribute to the community at large.
Community Moments showcase Dubs to the entire community in the app providing a large viewership opportunity for brands interested in sponsoring a channel. Sponsored channels also give brands the ability to let consumers directly connect with their content and create a personalized piece of branded audio and video.
The first branded channel launching in Community Moments is from the Warner Bros. original picture Storks (theatrical release date September 23, 2016).
More than 100+ million people around the world have already used Dubsmash to record Dubsmash videos -- or "Dubs," and everyday users interact with over 30mm sounds on Dubsmash -- the equivalent of more than 6 years worth of audio.
Dubsmash Community Moments is being released today for iOS and Android in English-speaking markets with other markets to follow.
Dubsmash is located in Berlin, Germany and has raised venture capital funding marquee investors like Index Ventures, Sunstone Capital, Lowercase Capital, Eniac Ventures & Raine Ventures.
