Dunkin' Donuts Celebrates Extension of "Caught Cold" Promotion with $25,000 Ticket Giveaway in Boston on April 12
Innovative Promotion Has Surprised Over 800 Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee Drinkers With Free Tickets to Popular Local Events Since October 2010
CANTON, Mass., April 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dunkin' Donuts, America's favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, has extended its popular "Caught Cold" promotion in Greater Boston through the summer. Anyone spotted with a Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee on select "Caught Cold" days has the chance to win free tickets to Celtics and Bruins playoff games, Red Sox home games and major concerts. To kick-off the expansion of "Caught Cold," Dunkin' Donuts presents "Boston's Biggest Ticket Giveaway" – a one day ticket giveaway on April 12 valued over $25,000.
On April 12, join Dunkin' Donuts for free samples of Iced Coffee and other giveaways between 8:00-9:00 a.m. outside of TD Garden on Causeway Street. At 9:00, the caravan of vehicles and street teams will leave the Garden and roam the streets of Greater Boston looking for people enjoying Dunkin' Iced Coffee. Those people will be "Caught Cold" and win upcoming game tickets. To add to the fun, at 10:00, all of the guests at a secret Dunkin' Donuts location in Boston will be surprised by Boston athletes and everyone in the restaurant will win tickets to an upcoming game.
The "Caught Cold" campaign kicked off in October 2010 with commercials and appearances from celebrity spokespersons Tyler Seguin from the Bruins and Ray Allen from the Celtics, and has since awarded over 800 tickets to Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee drinkers. Following the early success of the "Caught Cold" campaign, Bruins and Celtics giveaways will continue through the playoffs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, respectively. During Red Sox season, tickets will be given out every Wednesday. On select Fridays, tickets to the hottest Boston concerts will be given out.
According to Michael Mahon, Manager of Field Marketing for Dunkin' Donuts in Boston, the promotion is a way to help make going to games and concerts accessible for everyone, while celebrating the local popularity of Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee. "At Dunkin' Donuts, we are rewarding our core iced coffee drinkers with something they want. Boston is a sports and music city and Boston runs on Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee so it's our way to recognize and surprise our loyal guests," he said.
