Eagle Hospital Physicians Names Dr. Mac McCormick CEO
DALLAS, Feb. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle Hospital Physicians has appointed Talbot "Mac" McCormick, M.D. to the position of chief executive officer, with responsibility for overseeing Eagle's rapid growth and service expansion in the fast-moving hospitalist market.
Dr. McCormick joined Eagle in 2003 as a medical director and hospitalist. He steadily rose through management ranks, and was named president and chief operating officer in Aug. 2013. In his new role as CEO, Dr. McCormick succeeds Peter Harris, who now serves as Eagle's vice chairman of board of directors. Dr. McCormick retains the title of president.
"Working closely with Dr. McCormick these past months, I've developed a great appreciation of his deep knowledge of hospitalist medicine and his highly effective engagement with both clients and physicians," said Harris. "Eagle will benefit greatly from his leadership in the key initiatives that will fuel our growth moving forward."
Eagle's key hospitalist initiatives include:
- Eagle Telemedicine, which can deliver expert neurology, critical care, hospitalist night coverage and psychiatric care to locations where such care may be otherwise unavailable
- Hospitalist Connections, Eagle's hospitalist locum tenens company that effectively addresses unanticipated physician coverage needs and enables rapid in-hospital resource scaling for hospital clients
- Continued growth by new-client acquisition and expansion of services with existing clients
- Revenue cycle management, corporate compliance and other turnkey professional services that help physicians remain focused on their patients
- Improving hospital efficiency and outcomes with measurable reductions in length of stay, readmissions and wait times
- Expanding the Eagle hospitalist team through active recruiting and identification of physicians who desire flexible opportunities, and matching them with optimal practices
"Eagle Hospital Physicians is a recognized leader and uniquely poised for success in the fast-growing hospitalist market," said Dr. McCormick. "By focusing on innovation and customization to meet the needs of our clients, and on flexibility and supportive infrastructure to meet the needs of our hospitalists, we will continue to increase our positive impact on healthcare across the U.S."
