Eat24 Notes Completes Yelp Restaurant Reviews
New Patent-Pending Social Notes Platform Lets Users Share Restaurant Menu Item Reviews
SAN FRANCISCO, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Eat24.com, the world's largest web and mobile food delivery and takeout platform, today announced the launch of a new patent-pending social Notes platform that lets users create reviews and ratings by dish, not just restaurant, and share feedback with the entire Eat24 user community. Eat24's Notes platform made its initial debut in a May test pilot program before launching nationwide for all registered users this month. Notes expands on current Yelp reviews for Eat24 partner restaurants by letting users find and create more specific content describing items they liked, loved or wouldn't recommend and why.
"With Eat24 Notes, you don't have to read through five pages of reviews – you can quickly find out which Pad Thai your neighborhood loves and which sushi rolls you need to avoid," says Eat24 Co-Founder Nadav Sharon. "The Notes tool takes Yelp reviews to the next level by focusing on the product instead of just the restaurant."
Eat24 Notes also functions as a personal tasting journal, allowing users to write notes to themselves about dishes they've tried. When it's time to re-order, they can use Notes to recall what they liked and didn't like before. Publically shared Notes are visible on Eat24 restaurant menu pages and in user profiles, creating a unique community where users not only interact with restaurants via reviews but see what people in their neighborhood have to say about different dishes. Beyond reading and sharing Notes, users can "re-note" something to their own profile for future reference.
With the launch of Notes, Eat24 is not only reshaping the world of online food ordering and delivery but the way users look at reviews and what they expect from them. Eat24's access to over 20,000 restaurant menus in 750 cities nationwide provides an enormous database of menu items for users to review. The more Notes that are created and shared, the more valuable this new platform will become, making Eat24 a place for fast and easy online food ordering and an ideal hub for real and honest community reviews.
"It's been exciting to see how quickly our users responded to the new Notes platform," Nadav says. "In the first 24 hours after the launch, users created over 14,000 entries. Now with less than a month behind us with a test group, we've already climbed to over 100,000 user-created Notes. We look forward to seeing even more growth and to rolling out new features to make our Notes platform even better."
