Eaton Vance Tax-Advantaged Bond and Option Strategies Fund Report Of Earnings

BOSTON, Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Tax-Advantaged Bond and Option Strategies Fund (NYSE: EXD), a diversified closed-end investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three months and six months ended June 30, 2013. The Fund's fiscal year ends on December 31, 2013.

For the three months ended June 30, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $203,705 ($0.020 per common share). For the six months ended June 30, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $365,869 ($0.035 per common share). In comparison, for the three months ended June 30, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $120,991 ($0.011 per common share). For the six months ended June 30, 2012, the Fund had net investment income of $168,834 ($0.016 per common share). 

Net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended June 30, 2013 were $6,916,757 ($0.652 per common share) and net realized and unrealized losses for the six months ended June 30, 2013 were $11,066,186 ($1.045 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended June 30, 2012 were $7,625,293 ($0.714 per common share) and net realized and unrealized gains for the six months ended June 30, 2012 were $6,152,169 ($0.574 per common share).

On June 30, 2013, net assets of the Fund were $173,570,155. The net asset value per common share on June 30, 2013 was $16.43 based on 10,566,786 common shares outstanding. In comparison, on June 30, 2012, net assets of the Fund were $191,855,563. The net asset value per common share on June 30, 2012 was $18.17 based on 10,556,552 common shares outstanding.
