While the site is extremely information rich, its graphic interface and innovative navigation are what set it apart from other Washington apartment community websites. Because potential residents at Meridian apartment communities may be coming from the local area, from other parts of the U.S., or from countries around the world, the interface design had to deliver the information users sought, but do it in a visually captivating way that would keep them on the site longer, increasing the likelihood they would apply to lease online, or sign up to receive e-mail updates about Meridian properties (and thus be captured as an electronic lead).

The site forgoes traditional navigation and instead uses a "panning" effect to move from one destination in the site to another. Rather than clicking through to the next page selected, all graphic elements on the screen slide (in multiple directions) to "travel" to the new page's content. The interface also reinforces the Meridian brand promise – Your Destination Address – by using panoramic regional photography and a background that is a screened back map of the DC metro area.
