Echo Point Investment Management Names Howard Hassen Consultant Relations Specialist
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Echo Point Investment Management, an international growth equity investment boutique and affiliate of Old Mutual Asset Management, announced today it has named Howard Hassen as Consultant Relations Specialist. A 26-year veteran of Morgan Stanley and Salomon Smith Barney, Mr. Hassen will manage Echo Point's relationships with West Coast consultants and plan sponsors. He will report to Natalie Marvi-Romeo, Echo Point's Director of Marketing and Client Service, and will be based in San Francisco. Ms. Marvi-Romeo will continue to cover Midwest, East Coast and Canadian consultants for Echo Point. The hiring of Mr. Hassen further strengthens the Echo Point team, following the appointments of Bill Perrone as a Marketing Associate and Anjay Kumar as a Research Analyst during the last year.
"After years of working together at Morgan Stanley, there is a deep level of mutual respect between the Echo Point team and Howard," said Hans van den Berg, CEO of Echo Point Investment Management. "Howard has a keen understanding of our investment process and how we manage our international growth equity strategy. He will be a major contributor to reaching our business and growth objectives. We are extraordinarily pleased to work with Howard again and to have someone of his caliber join our team."
Mr. Hassen was most recently the Executive Director in Morgan Stanley's Investment Management Consultant Relations Group, introducing clients to the firm's equity, fixed income and alternative strategy products.
Previously, he was Salomon Smith Barney's Director of Fixed Income Sales and Trading, working directly with major institutional investment managers and pensions. Mr. Hassen holds an MBA from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and a bachelor's degree from Stanford University.
"Howard's deep knowledge of the investment industry, paired with his long term relationships with a range of plan sponsors and consultants will help Echo Point considerably expand its West Coast presence," Mr. van den Berg said.
