EchoStar Reports First Quarter 2012 Financial Results

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS) today reported total revenue of $765 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, a 59 percent increase compared with $480 million for the corresponding period in 2011.

EchoStar reported net income attributable to EchoStar of $127 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, compared with net income attributable to EchoStar of $17 million during the corresponding period in 2011. Diluted earnings per share was $1.45 for the quarter ended March 31, 2012, compared with diluted earnings per share of $0.19 for the corresponding period in 2011.
