Eco Building Products Codifies Change In The Sandy Rebuild
ECOB Showcases Defensive Homes via the 2014 Eco Home Tour in Late May
VISTA, Calif., April 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eco Building Products, Inc., (OTCQB: ECOB) announced today that the Company's vision in codifying change goes above and beyond the development and manufacturing of the world's premier lumber defense formulation, Eco Red Shield™. With sights set on raising the bar on many facets of construction including lateral strength in engineering, Team Eco will soon showcase the implementation of change in the Building Industry with two Eco Home™ models, one in Breezy Point, NY and the other on the Jersey Shore located in Sea Bright.
ECOB's strategic efforts in the Sandy Rebuild region are aimed at showcasing the implementation of change in a day and age in which defensive building practices are in high demand resultant of climate change and the environment in which we live, work and sleep. ECOB engineered several defensive models last year which were stalled during the lengthy approval process and hard winter. Today, both models are now underway in this highly impacted region as contractors with cabin fever are showing up in this spring run ready to build anything after their long, cold, wet winter.
"The realities of what's happening in this rebuild are further complicated when we see buildings coming out of the ground in areas that had 48" of water, with 30" concrete walls and structural floor members that could be subjected to future flooding, when the manufacturer's product guides state that the products should not be subjected to constant wetting since the core of that lumber is glued like particle board," stated Steve Conboy, President/CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc. Eco Home in New Jersey is built on concrete walls that are 108" above flood tide, which will prove to keep this defensive home safe from rising tides and high winds in the event of a future super storm. The Eco Home in Breezy Point, New York will be the first house in this region built on telescoping steel columns 48" above flood tides. This house should be the most defensive home the U.S. has ever seen, and we will demonstrate to architects and engineers during our Eco Home Tour later this month that buildings protected from fire, and water intrusion do not have to increase the cost over traditional methodologies. ECOB strives to deliver these engineering values and methodologies, and will demonstrate brick and mortar costs during our upcoming home tour. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFoJ535EsIA
As the creator and leader in defensive building practices, we took a proactive approach deciding to not sit back and watch construction in the Sandy Rebuild with building products specified by architects and engineers that no longer provide the required protection and sustainability in these areas; many of which will be subjected to the force and resulting damages commonly associated with super storms. Team Eco's goal is simple – create defensive models for people to touch and feel, that display our [defensive building practices] principles in living form, that in most cases does not have to raise the cost beyond reach. At ECOB, we understand change is not easy for builders and contractors to embrace, so we are going the extra mile right now to prove out that Sandy Victims who purchase the complete package from The Home Depot [the Costco of building materials] can build defensively for similar costs of standard building materials. "When you package everything from appliances, roofing, cabinets, finishes and the details, essentially everything that goes into a house from The Home Depot, the savings experienced in the majority of the products will be more than it costs to build with Eco Red Shield vs. raw lumber; Eco Disaster Break vs. tar paper; and steel columns which last forever vs. wooden poles that do not," stated Conboy.
On the same front, Team Eco is looking to support New York's Mayor, Bill de Blasio, with respect to his renewed commitment in the Sandy Rebuild, with high hopes that his staff will in fact take the time to come out and touch and feel our defensive Eco Home in Breezy Point, NY. http://www1.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/news/157-14/de-blasio-administration-releases-comprehensive-sandy-report-major-overhaul-to/#/0. ECOB's President & CEO, being a native New Yorker, desires to meet with Mayor de Blasio in an effort to support this joint Sandy Rebuild.
Mr. Conboy will be speaking at the 20th Annual World Trade Conference 2014 in May, promoting international trade. http://www.worldtradeconference-ie.us/ Mr. Conboy's efforts will be directed at teaching the world how we rebuild after a disaster like Sandy, delivering a comprehensive plan that can support sustainable rebuild, brick and mortar costs, while simultaneously creating factory-type jobs. Our rebuild supports a much bigger vision when the Government and Private Sector join forces for building American style homes in factories for export," says Steve Conboy, President & CEO, Eco Building Products, Inc.
