NEW YORK, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective Immediately PR is proud to announce "The Acoustic Buzz" music series for Women's History Month! The next showcase is slated for March 26th, 2015 at NYC's Astor Place Starbucks location (13-25 Astor Pl, New York), and will last from 4-7 p.m. New artist performances include traditional jazz group The Ladybugs, gritty blues-rock singer/songwriter Katie Buchanan, Australian singer/songwriter May, former American Idol finalist Elise Testone and NYC-based rockers Secret Someones, who Ingrid Michaelson praised, "They're like Weezer, but with boobies."

Taking the stage at 4 p.m., The Ladybugs, known for their intricate harmonies and experimental arrangements, have received high praise for recent performances at Jazz At Lincoln Center's Generations in Jazz Festival, the NY Hot Jazz Festival and the NYC Winter Jazzfest. The band is led by Martina DaSilva and joined by award winning multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Kate Davis, who was named one of MTV's "15 Fresh Females Who Rule Pop." Next on deck, we have blues-influenced singer/songwriter Katie Buchanan who recently released her debut LP, GLOW. Buchanan has featured on notable publications such as Guitarworld, The Deli NYC, Folk Radio UK, Diffuser and Pop Matters, who raves, "Katie Buchanan's music feels like it's basking in the rays of the sun...her songwriting has a certain golden hour aura about it." Australian-based powerhouse vocalist May will serenade cafe attendees at 5:10 p.m., embodying vocal abilities comparable to legendary artists Norah Jones and Adele. Charleston-native Elise Testone has generated a loyal following after her debut appearance as Season 11 finalist on Fox's hit TV show "American Idol" and is gearing up to release a brand new EP this spring; Testone will perform starting at 5:45 p.m.! Finally, there will be a special performance by alternative-rock band Secret Someones, who just completed a national tour Jukebox The Ghost in support of their debut EP, I Won't Follow, released via Cherrytree and Interscope records.

Last month, Effective Immediately PR launched "The Acoustic Buzz," a curated monthly music series highlighting emerging artists by showcasing their music in an intimate and unique setting. The first of the series took place Thursday, February 19th at NYC's Astor Place Starbucks from 4-7 p.m., and featured performances from buzzing pop singer-songwriter Jillette Johnson and folktronic artist Howard. The creation of "The Acoustic Buzz" series is one of Effective Immediately PR's many on-going community music initiatives and showcases, designed to bring music to the people.
