Ekahau Announces Record Growth, Additional Funding, and Appoints New CEO

Ekahau Inc., the worldwide leader in high performance Wi-Fi-based Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) announced today that its sales grew by over 50% in the first half of 2012. The majority of the company's growth came from the healthcare sector where it enjoys the reputation of a solid performance leader and innovator in helping hospitals improve efficiencies, patient safety, and work-flow.

In addition to the rapid increase in sales, Ekahau has also received nearly $10 million in additional growth funding during the year. This funding will help continue the acceleration of Ekahau's product development efforts as well as bolster its sales and customer care teams. The funding was led by Nexit Ventures with participation from several new and existing investors in the company.

The company also announced the appointment of Mark D. Norris as the new President and CEO of Ekahau. Mr. Norris has been with the company for over 18 months and served as COO and CFO prior to his promotion. With more than 20 years of strategic-leadership experience, Mr. Norris has held executive roles in operations and finance including M&A experience with public and private companies including Marriott, AES, and USA Mobility, which span industry verticals including healthcare, hospitality and education.
