The DC Powermeter 100 event will be held at the Washington Post Live Center, 1301 K. Street, NW, Washington, DC. Mr. Marin, who purchased El Tiempo Latino in December from the Washington Post, reiterated that Powermeter 100 events "bring people together" so they can learn more about each other, as well as raise the awareness of vibrant Latino communities, with consumer purchasing power that is frequently underestimated. "With networking and communications, we can help build stronger bridges between Hispanic communities and corporate and political power structures," he said. "We know they value our market, and our votes. We want to foster better relationships."
Last year alone, the Boston Powermeter 100 honored influentials and community and civic leaders such as Boston Archbishop Sean O'Malley; Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warner and Ed Markey; retired Red Sox star David Ortiz; as well as many civic and community leaders like Manny Lopez, of the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center; Ines Palmarin, of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation; and Jose Masso, Policy Director of Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport).
