SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Australian-based Electricitybilling.com opened a United States West Coast office March 17th, 2016, to launch its cloud-based billing software. Electricitybilling.com will provide Internet, electric and water utility billing based from its new Santa Monica location.
"We selected Santa Monica because the quality of talent here is world class while culturally similar to Australia," Duncan says. Duncan serves as CEO for the Electricitybilling.com business operation in the U.S. "We are determined to be the best cloud-based utilities billing platform and this requires great talent, focused innovation and strong leadership. The opening of the Santa Monica office will be followed by a number of new customer announcements."
According to Duncan, setting up an office on the West Coast is the first of several steps to strengthen its offerings to a growing North American customer base. Electricitybilling.com is running a dual-brand strategy with its sister brand waterworkslms.com, located in Arkansas, which supports more than 150 smaller retail utilities.
U.S. utilities have been slower to adopt cloud-based billing, as compared to those in other countries, Duncan says. "The groundswell of movement to cloud utility billing is undeniable; almost overnight American utilities have shifted from opposing the cloud to wanting to push everything to it. With real time metering and IoT coming, IT managers are handing off the responsibility and the headache," Duncan says. "We have been doing this for many years and opportunities here in the United States can now be backed by a local presence. It is very exciting for both our team and our customers." Electricitybilling.com also provides billing services in Australia, Philippines, United Kingdom, European Union and the Middle East locations. These customers will benefit from more comprehensive time zone support.
The underlying platform powering electricitybilling.com and waterworkslms.com enables a utility to consolidate its customer management, billing, payments, reporting and customer portal into one cloud based solution. Automatic generation and distribution of bills, reminders and disconnect notices and the ease of customer use on Mac or Windows browsers are a few of the many benefits provided.
Electricitybilling.com and Waterworkslms.com are operated out of offices in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; Harrison, Ark., and Santa Monica, Calif., United States; and Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. The company works with more than 150 companies and has a growing team of more than 50 employees.
