NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Multimedia entertainment studio Electus, today announced the appointment of veteran TV producer and executive Corie Henson as Executive Vice President of Unscripted Television. Ms. Henson was previously Vice President of Alternative Series at ABC Entertainment where she oversaw production for hit series including Dancing with the Stars, Shark Tank and the Extreme Makeover franchise. Ms. Henson will begin mid-September and will report to Electus CEO Chris Grant.

In her new role, Henson will oversee all of Electus' unscripted TV business, including current Electus hits Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls (NBC), Dog and Beth (CMT), The Hero (TNT) hosted by The Rock, and the upcoming Food Fighters (NBC) hosted by Adam Richman.
As Vice President of Alternative Series and Specials at ABC Entertainment, Henson was responsible for developing new series, as well as overseeing existing productions. In addition to her work at ABC, Henson also produced Big Brother for CBS, as well as NBC's reality series Grease: You're the One That I Want!, and Fox's On Air with Ryan Seacrest. She also executive produced TLC's The Secret Life of a Soccer Mom.
Henson has also been Executive Producer of the Critics Choice Awards and has overseen red carpet coverage of the Academy Awards, Grammys, Golden Globes and SAG Awards for E! Entertainment.
