INDIANAPOLIS, June 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Element Three, a local marketing agency, has been awarded a national silver American Advertising Award by the American Advertising Federation.
The honor comes for a disruptive direct mail piece produced for its client Jameson & Company, a niche CPA firm that specializes in government grant and contract accounting and administration.
Jameson needed a way to get in front of a targeted group of people: those who had recently been awarded a government grant or contract. Since government awards mean government audits, Jameson wanted to reach out to new awardees and potential clients with helpful, pertinent information to prepare them for an audit and reinforce the need for the firm's expertise.
"Ed Jameson wanted a piece that would serve as an introduction and conversation-starter," said Sharon Walsh, Element Three Creative Director. " Since helping and educating clients is inherent to Jameson & Company, we thought a care package in the form of an Audit Survival Kit would be ideal."
Jameson's audit survival kit is a witty, informative and elegant 3D direct marketing piece. The solid-wood, laser-engraved box contains flashcards that ask a series of complicated questions you can use to "Test your CPA." Other "audit relief" provisions included a large bottle of headache relief pills (actually Tic Tacs®), a worry stone, and soothing chamomile tea in a box labeled with the question "Are you in hot water?"
"Everything about this box was designed to represent Jameson & Company as a leader in its field," said Bob Ewing, Element Three Art Director. "This is a high end piece, designed to position our client as elegant and professional, learned and helpful. It's the ultimate first impression."
The American Advertising Federation (AAF) annually conducts a three-tier, national competition for creative execution. Across the country, local entrants vie for local American Advertising Awards (formerly the ADDYs) that recognize them as the best in their market. Local winners advance to the regional stages, and regional winners advance to the national competition. At each stage, a panel of independent judges scores the creative dimensions of each entry in selecting the winners. The judges determine the number of awards in each category based on the relative quality of work in the category.
In its first year of entering the American Advertising Awards, Element Three was honored with a local gold and regional gold award before receiving a national silver award on June 13, 2015 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to the American Advertising Awards, the Jameson box also earned media coverage in Fast Company Design and UnderConsideration.
