Elite Innovations Introduces TacLace Boot Lacing System
Innovative tactical military product cuts lacing time by up to 80%
RALEIGH, N.C., Aug. 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Elite Innovations announced the official introduction of its first product—a revolutionary tactical boot lacing system called TacLace (patent pending). The cutting-edge product eliminates the need to tighten and tie your laces, replacing it with its trademark three-step process: "pull, cinch and wrap." View instructional video for full demonstration. TacLace decreases lace-up time from about 90 seconds to 15 seconds, which could mean the difference between life and death on the battlefield. TacLace keeps to military spec for all branches of service, but its convenience goes beyond its military surplus function to the industrial workforce and outdoor industry.

TacLace was conceptualized by founder Andrew Williams and a fellow U.S. Marine on deployment in Afghanistan. "Unfortunately it can take 90 seconds to two minutes to secure your boots properly, said Williams. "I'd rather spend those seconds in the bunker or on the berm responding to pop shots." In addition to neatness and efficiency, TacLace evenly distributes the lace load, saving the leg from discomfort and indentations. Williams pieced together the first version of TacLace on tour. When he returned stateside, he set to improve it.
Williams worked with an upholsterer in Wilmington, North Carolina to further develop TacLace using high grade military materials. Several versions were tested by fellow Marines and Department of Defense contractors. "We are proud to say that TacLace is a completely U.S. made product manufactured by RLCB, Inc. (formerly Raleigh Lions Clinic for the Blind) and Blind Industries and Services of Maryland who jointly employee over 200 blind workers. We believe in developing innovative products for, and by, U.S. consumers," said Williams.
In its short time on the market, TacLace has received positive feedback from military members and beyond. It's currently used by Special Operations, Marines, Soldiers and Airmen in Afghanistan, as well as outdoorsmen, athletes, and more.
