Emerging Leaders Awards (ELAS) Call For Nominations Now Open
ELAs to Recognize Rising Stars in the Communications Industry
WASHINGTON, June 14, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Washington Women in Public Relations is pleased to announce that the call for nominations for the 2017 Emerging Leaders Awards is now open. The Emerging Leaders Awards, originally founded in 2010, is designed to honor women that have left a lasting impression in the public relations landscape in their relatively young careers. The deadline for nominations is Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. The nomination form is available on the WWPR website.
The Emerging Leaders Awards honors six extraordinary young women who have excelled in the communications industry but have not been recognized either due to age or level of experience. All nominees for this award must be between the ages of 25 and no older than 35 by June 1, 2017, and reside in the Washington metropolitan area. Six honorees will be announced spanning from different industries and will be honored in the following categories: nonprofit, corporate, association, agency, and independent/PR practitioner. This is a change from years past and a way to honor a diverse group of up and coming communications professionals.
The honorees will be named at the eighth annual awards ceremony and cocktail reception on Tuesday, September 12 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Honorees are chosen by an esteemed group of judges based on their contributions to the communications industry thus far, how they are an innovative, driving force for their companies' communications strategies, and their potential to contribute to the industry for many years to come, making them truly emerging leaders.
This year's emcee is Kim Kingsley, co-founder and former COO of Politico.
