Emmy Winner, Replay Technologies, Set to Unveil 5K freeD™ Technology during the NCAA Final Four Weekend at AT&T Stadium in North Texas
DALLAS, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Replay Technologies, Inc., the Israeli-based tech start-up company behind the revolutionary freeD™ product, readies it's game-changing technology for the NCAA Final Four this weekend in Arlington, Texas.
Replay Technologies is working with CBS and Turner Sports to provide exclusive in-game replays of the three games over the course of the NCAA Championship weekend. "We are extremely excited for college basketball fans to see the game in a whole new perspective, through the lens of this innovative technology," explains Oren Yogev, CEO of Replay Technologies. "By showcasing these never before seen perspectives of the game, our goal is to create increased exhilaration throughout the telecast."
Having successfully broadcasted numerous other sporting events thus far in 2014, this will be the first time the technology is being used during a live telecast for college basketball on an international scale. freeD™ technology was used in basketball this past February during the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans, LA; and more recently for tennis at the BNP Paribas Open, in Indian Wells, CA, in March. The technology was also viewed internally for fans of the Kentucky vs. North Carolina matchup at AT&T Stadium earlier this season.
"AT&T Stadium provides a perfect situation for our 5K cameras to deliver the highest imagery quality possible," says Yogev. "Our cameras cover the entire basketball court, which will give viewers a full 360-degree vantage point of the action."
Replay Technologies has on-going strategic partnerships with AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and Yankees Stadium in New York to televise NFL, MLB and NCAA football and basketball broadcasts. The company, which was founded in 2011, made its debut during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Last month, Replay Technologies secured an equity investment from Guggenheim Partners to continue its reach in the US and internationally. In addition, this past week the company received an Emmy Award in "Technical Achievement" for their work with the NY Yankees and YES Network.
About Replay Technologies, Inc.
Our vision is to power the next big revolution in video by using our proprietary freeD™ technology to create novel viewing experiences. freeD™, or free-dimensional video, is unique, cutting-edge technology that allows audiences to view broadcasts of live-action events from any angle. The freeD™ algorithm synchronizes every image from latest generation cameras (5x the resolution of standard HD) to capture and render the resulting video in real-time, providing a virtual 3D model of the action.
We aim to disrupt the fundamental operating cost structure for broadcasting, cinema and other fields (biomedical, security, TV viewing, etc.) by implementation of the concept of placing viewing angles and un-manned cameras where none existed in reality.
