CHICAGO, Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Some 68 percent of employees report having high levels of stress according to the latest StressPulse(SM) survey by ComPsych Corporation. Twenty percent of employees said lack of job security was their biggest stressor. ComPsych Corporation is the world's largest provider of employee assistance programs and worldwide leader in GuidanceResources (EAPs, behavioral health, wellness, work-life and crisis intervention services).
"As the holiday shopping season begins, employees are trying to balance the urge to spend with the worry that they will retain their job," said Dr. Richard A. Chaifetz, chairman and CEO of ComPsych. "We increasingly get calls from employees who are struggling to manage their daily expenses. On top of that, they are now faced with gift-giving costs.
"Employers should remind workers of available EAP and work-life services, which can help individuals set and stick to a budget, as well as get counseling to keep stress levels in check," he added.
