The award was presented during the 39th Annual Governor's New Product Award (GNPA) event on May 18th, 2016 by Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) President John M. Parisi, P.E. and WSPE GNPA Chair Dale R. Swenson, P.E. Accepting the award for energybank was Founder and CEO Neal Verfuerth.

This is the second time Neal has won the top award from GNPA. His previous invention, an ultra-efficient, high-intensity fluorescent fixture won first place at the 35th GNPA event.
