WASHINGTON, July 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As the Federal Communications Commission prepares to announce a proposal to revise the E-Rate program and provide more opportunities for schools, libraries and other learning environments to secure essential broadband access for the country's students, the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) today announced a series of webinars focused on empowering education leaders to advocate more effectively for much needed updates to the program. The first webinar of the series will take place on Thursday, July 25th from 4:00p to 5:00p ET and will feature insight from an FCC official and two former US Department of Education Directors of Educational Technology.

This webinar series will highlight the E-Rate program's history and achievements, as well as help advocates identify areas where improvements are needed. An updated and streamlined E-Rate will allow us to more effectively work toward the goal of universal access to a world-class education and ensure that our nation's students are college and career ready."
