ST. LOUIS, Nov. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise Holdings President and CEO Pam Nicholson was named one of the 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry by Automotive News. Nicholson and her peers will be recognized during a gala evening reception at Detroit's Max M. Fisher Music Center on Monday, Nov. 9.
The executives named to the list of 100 Leading Women represent the most influential professionals within the automotive industry. This year's award recipients were selected from among several hundred nominations.
"Since joining Enterprise as a Management Trainee 34 years ago, Pam has achieved growth and success in every facet of the operations she has led," said Andy Taylor, Executive Chairman, Enterprise Holdings. "She is an accomplished leader, a passionate employee advocate and an outstanding role model. I can think of no other individual more deserving of this recognition by the automotive industry."
As president and CEO for Enterprise Holdings, which owns the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, Nicholson is not only the highest-ranking woman at Enterprise, but also in the car rental industry and in the broader travel industry. Most recently, Nicholson moved into the Top 20 on Fortune Magazine's ranking of the Most Powerful Women in Business – her ninth consecutive appearance on the list.
Enterprise Holdings owns 1.7 million vehicles, making the company the world's largest owner and purchaser of passenger vehicles and a significant link in the automotive value chain. As a result, Enterprise Holdings maintains strong relationships with auto manufacturers as it collaborates to find ways to expose new vehicles and technology to consumers as part of an "extended test drive."
Nicholson leads the company's international network of more than 9,000 fully staffed neighborhood and airport locations in nearly 70 countries. In 2015, Nicholson led Enterprise Holdings' expansion both domestically and internationally, achieving double-digit growth across multiple business lines and boosting the company's revenue more than 8 percent to $19.4 billion.
Today, Enterprise Holdings' worldwide revenues place the company near the top of the global travel industry, exceeding many airlines and most cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and online travel agencies.
