Espion Releases Virtual Machine for Email Encryption; Now Integrates with Zimbra™ & Microsoft Exchange Server
BATON ROUGE, La., May 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Espion International Inc. announced today the release of a virtualized email encryption and SPAM filtering machine version of their already very successful Interceptor appliance, now in its third generation. The virtual Interceptor version integrates into many third-party email exchange products, such as VMware-Zimbra and Microsoft Exchange Server, offering even more flexibility in state-of-the-art email encryption.
"This is a significant milestone for the company, with the release of the Interceptor™ V-Series products, customers are now able to build virtual Interceptor™ machines with greater scalability, better manageability and lower costs," said Douglas Sherrod, Espion's GM & Director of Marketing & Sales.
The Interceptor™ V-Series machines have been fully integrated with the products of VMware(1) providing a seamless virtual implementation of the new V-Series virtual Interceptor™. Espion supports many email server products such as Microsoft Exchange(2) that run under VMware's virtual operating environment but Espion has taken a further step to fully integrate the Interceptor™ into the VMware Zimbra email products. This integration VM solution couples a powerful encryption engine with an enterprise-class email system made easily accessible from within the Zimbra product.
"We have been successful in seamlessly integrating our "EPR", an artificial intelligence scanning engine, the heart of our Interceptor™, with the Zimbra email and collaboration products. We now can offer an easy to implement VM solution for an integrated email content filtering and email encryption capability accessible by the Zimbra user, right from within the Zimbra's user interface with back-end IT management controls for customizable filtering on actionable triggers and policies," said Murali Chakravarthi, Espion's Chief Technology Officer and creator of the "EPR", artificial intelligence engine.
Unlimited email size is another inherent feature that can be made available to Zimbra users. The Espion MX Lock™ option of the Interceptor™ V-Series allows Zimbra email clients to send and receive emails of unlimited size, regardless of the number or size of any attachments. This unlimited size email capability is a real plus for applications found in the PACS departments of hospitals or engineering companies where very large CAD files need to be sent and received by recipients that otherwise would have file-size limitation. The MX Lock™ feature running under VMware Zimbra does not require the recipient machine to have any special hardware or software, and it works under most all browsers.
Interceptor Ve™ - the Interceptor Ve-Series is a virtual implementation of a software-only version of Espion's tried and tested MX Lock™ hardware-software appliance. The MX Lock™ feature provides email security for outgoing email through a 1024-bit dual-key encryption method meeting U.S. Federal guidelines for HIPAA-GLBA-SOX(1) compliance. The MX Lock™ is embedded into Espion's security-hardened operating system of the Interceptor Ve™. The Interceptor Ve™ integrates with the specific serialized devices in a customer's VM host machines.
Interceptor Vi™ - the Interceptor Vi-Series is a virtual appliance (software-only) implementation of Espion's MX Mercury™, an artificial intelligence (A.I.) powered email-attachment scanning, filtering and routing system. The Interceptor Vi™ enables the content management features of MX Mercury™ to run as a software-only virtual appliance providing Zimbra email clients with a seamlessly integrated anti-SPAM, anti-virus, anti-malware scanning, content filtering and routing.
"The content filtering capability of MX Mercury™ provides some very interesting options for IT administrators; now emails may be copied, routed or even blocked from delivery based on customized rules and key-word triggers, a very effective control feature to prevent accidental data leakage or intentional espionage, maybe we could have prevented the recent WikiLeak event?" said Chris Keasler – Technical Analyst for Espion.
Interceptor Vt™ - the Interceptor Vt™ has the combined features of the previously described Interceptor Ve™ and the Interceptor Vi™ Series Espion products. The Interceptor Vt™ is a dual-mode virtual appliance (software-only) implementation of Espion's MX Lock™ plus MX Mercury™ providing the combined capability of both Interceptor Ve™ and the Interceptor Vi™.
All of the Interceptor V-Series products are provided with installation support for customer-owned virtual machines and includes an initial one (1) year Software Maintenance & Support from date of purchase. A hybrid capability with non-virtual Espion machines is an option. The Espion asymmetrical clustering capability can provide multi-levels of redundancy with Espion VM as well as hardware appliance machines. The Interceptor are superior for providing massively scalable high-availability..
