Eventap Launches Facebook Events Competitor
Extend the Reach of an Event with Eventap
SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- There's a new mobile phone app in the Apple App Store that promises to simplify the mobile revolutionizes the micro-event planning space. Eventap, the brainchild of 22-year old entrepreneurs Gabe Beitcher and John Mitchell, offers a simplified micro-event creation process and service that extends the potential reach of a micro event by inviting address book contacts via SMS. The app is free to download.

Eventap can be used for any type of micro event -- a pre-game, dinner party, family get-together, drinks with co-workers, birthday party, or lunch with friends – and it displaces Facebook Events, for many years the neglected child of the Facebook family.
"We created Eventap out of frustration with currently available options," said co-founder Gabe Beitcher. "Users should have a single, streamlined mobile phone app that enables them to create an event and add all the vital information such as a photo, address, description, and also invite people from their iPhone's address book," added Beitcher.
With Eventap on an iPhone, a host can now create an event, tap into an existing address book, and send out an invitation to guests via SMS. "A lot of services require you to build up an entire new network of friends, but we simply built Eventap on top of what you already have," remarked Eventap's other co-founder, John Mitchell. "Other planning platforms are insincere and spammy. With Eventap we wanted to create an app where people were comfortable creating events for any occasion. We feel confident that Eventap can be the go-to mobile application when planning a dinner, pre-game, birthday party, or larger event for its target audience," continued Mitchell.
For a micro event with a guest list of 25 people, the Eventap app requires one-third of the time and a staggering 15 fewer steps from the host to complete the guest invitation process.
In addition to SMS invitations, Eventap provides three features that really make it standout in the marketplace. The first is the ability for the user to create a library of targeted guest lists – for example, for friends, co-workers, family, sorority sisters or fraternity brothers --that can be edited, deleted, and used for quick invitations. When creating an event, a host simply taps the specific guest list to push out the invitations.
Second, a guest invited to an event through Eventap can request a +1 from the host by selecting a contact from their address book.
Finally, every event hosted on Eventap provides a live comment thread, for host and guests to interact and exchange information before and during an event.
Eventap reimagines how we coordinate plans and events with friends on our iPhones. The design and development team has simplified the experience, allowing users to create events within seconds, and extend the potential reach of their event to those on the Eventap platform.
