EverFi Partners with Teach For America to Extend Financial Literacy Education
WASHINGTON, Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EverFi, Inc., the leading education technology company for critical skills, today announced a partnership with Teach For America that will provide financial education training and resources to corps members throughout their careers.
Through the partnership over 10,000 first and second-year Teach For America corps members will be able to leverage EverFi@Work, the adult financial education program that uses interactive technologies to teach, assess and certify individuals. The platform includes sophisticated new media presentation of key financial literacy concepts along with a highly customized gaming simulation that provides an adaptive learning experience for each learner.
"Like all teachers, Teach For America corps members dedicate their energy to helping their students succeed," said Matthew Kramer, President of Teach for America. "EverFi@Work will be a useful resource in helping them easily navigate personal financial preparedness so they can focus their attention on expanding educational opportunity for children growing up in poverty."
In addition to being used by current corps members, who are distributed across thirty-six states and the District of Columbia, another 28,000 Teach For America alumni will be able to leverage EverFi@Work to hone their knowledge of savings and investments, mortgages, credit scores, insurance, retirement planning and more.
"Teach For America is an organization that I have a tremendous amount of respect for and we're thrilled to be helping drive financial literacy awareness and education in concert with them," said EverFi founder and CEO Tom Davidson. "Since our start as a company we've recruited numerous Teach For America corps graduates to join our mission. They're exactly the kind of seasoned educators and leaders that share our vision and continue to drive the growth and impact of our organization."
Through its national network of schools across fifty states, EverFi has certified over 4.5 million students across its technology learning platforms that include Financial and Digital Literacy, Student Loan Management, Cyberbullying, Alcohol Abuse, and Sexual Assault Awareness.
