NEW YORK, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MedPage Today, the leading provider of real-time breaking medical news for healthcare professionals, today announced two new strategic partnerships with leading professional organizations: the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and the American Thoracic Society (ATS). MedPage Today is the professional brand within the Everyday Health portfolio, the leading health and wellness media company attracting 38 million people monthly.

Through its partnership with the AACE, MedPage Today will produce three news products for endocrinologists and healthcare professionals with interest in endocrinology or metabolic disease, including a daily e-newsletter. The ATS agreement allows MedPage Today to cover conference news from a full-slate of their medical meetings where breaking research is revealed on diseases of the airways and lungs: COPD, TB, asthma, cystic fibrosis, and lung cancer.
By creating exclusive editorial products in collaboration with these association partners, MedPage Today is increasing its reach to healthcare physicians to capture nearly 95% of the endocrinology community and thoracic specialists. MedPage Today will be offering sponsorships for these new products which will be customized to the interests of the healthcare professional, with special attention to those findings that will guide the daily diagnosis and treatment of patients.
"MedPage Today is excited to create exclusive relationships with the top medical associations in the industry," says Paul Slavin, Chief Operating Officer, Everyday Health. "Through our collaboration with both the AACE and ATS, MedPage Today will provide physicians and healthcare professionals with news from the world's most relevant medical conferences; while also offering marketers targeted reach to physicians they may not have been able to reach otherwise."
Customized news, delivered directly to a busy clinician's mailbox, is a highly effective way for physicians to keep current. Organizations will directly benefit from this increased reach as they will be able to showcase their products and services alongside news and information related to the appropriate medical audiences – in this case endocrinologists, thoracic specialists and health care providers that specialize in these areas.
"The advantages of being able to provide this kind of audience-specific exposure means that advertisers are likely to see a higher return on their investment as it allows them to better target the users who are most likely to be interested in their products," continued Slavin.
For AACE, MedPage today will create a daily e-newsletter; a conference reporter newsletter from 9 endocrinology conferences in the U.S. and Europe; and full-video news coverage of the AACE annual meeting, the American Diabetes Association meeting, the ENDO meeting, and Europeans Association for Study of Diabetes meeting.
"As the world's largest organization dedicated specifically to the Clinical Endocrinologist, we are pleased to be working with MedPage Today," said Alan J. Garber, MD, PhD, FACE, President of AACE. "We are confident that this daily digest of the most recent endocrine news will provide our members with a valuable resource to keep current in the ever-evolving world of clinical medicine."
MedPage Today is also launching the "ATS Conference Reporter", an e-newsletter program which reports on breaking news from the top 10 thoracic related medical conferences worldwide, including the ATS's largest annual meeting, the American Thoracic Society International Conference.
"The ATS was founded more than a century ago on a simple but powerful principle: better treatments and cures for disease happen faster when advances in science and medicine are shared. That's why the Society is happy to be working with the award-winning science writers and editors of MedPage Today," said Stephen C. Crane, PhD, MPH, Executive Director of ATS. "The ATS Conference Reporter rapidly disseminates relevant, accurate, and concise news about research discoveries and better ways to provide patient care, not only for our members but for the wider respiratory community."
MedPage Today has ongoing relationships with several leading associations for medical news coverage, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association.
