Excellence: How Red Bull Manages Its High Performance Program For Athletes
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The British American Business Council Los Angeles will present Dr. Andy Walshe, Director of High-Performance for the Global Athlete Development Program at Red Bull, for an evening reception on Thursday, March 24th. British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay will provide opening remarks.
Dr. Walshe was previously the Sports Science Director for the U.S. Olympic Ski and Snowboard Association. Within two years of being hired he led his team from a far contender to multiple Gold medals in the X-Games and Olympic Games.
Dr. Walshe works closely with over 150 sponsored U.S. athletes as well as several hundred around the world and supervises a team of industry leading sports scientists, nutritionists, biomechanics experts, and sports psychologists. In addition to supervising the high performance team, Dr. Walshe develops elite sports performance models-frameworks that allow a trainer to analyze athletes in relation to their sport to determine strengths and weaknesses. His expertise is in biomechanical physiological analysis.
This event takes place from 7 pm with a catered reception at the Red Bull North America facilities, 1740 Stewart Street in Santa Monica (There is no sign on the red brick building. Come in through the gate (arm will be up) and use the front entrance to the building up the ramp).
