EXFO Launches IQS-2800 ITLA Tunable Laser Source

QUEBEC CITY, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) announced today the introduction of the IQS-2800 ITLA Tunable Laser Source, jointly developed with Coherent Solutions and exclusively available from EXFO.

The recent bandwidth explosion is pushing next-generation transmission systems to new capacity limits requiring the use of complex high-order modulation formats like dual-polarization quadrature phase-shift keying (DPQPSK). Housed in the IQS-636 platform, the IQS-2800 is a modular test solution that provides researchers and engineers with a comprehensive way to design and test future ultra-high-capacity network architectures. The lasers are tunable over the C and L bands with a 10-pm resolution.

EXFO's IQS-2800 ITLA Tunable Laser Source is a cost-effective and versatile solution for various applications, such as coherent/OFDM transmission and WDM network emulation. The IQS-2800 delivers the high power output, 100-kHz narrow linewidth and high resolution tunability required by today's demanding applications, including 100G and 400G coherent transmission.
