Express Yourself Barista Bar Celebrates its First Year of Operation Serving the Bushwick/Williamsburg Neighborhoods.
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Express Yourself Barista Bar (EYBB) will be celebrating its first anniversary on October 12th, 2014. EYBB is the brainchild of three Brooklyn native brothers, who converted their childhood apartment building, owned by their parents since the 1980's, into a thriving coffee bar which serves the Williamsburg and Bushwick communities.
EYBB supports and buys only locally roasted coffees from vendors such as Brooklyn Roasting Company, and they specialize and serve only French Pressed coffees as well as espresso coffee beverages, and they serve cold brew coffee.
EYBB has posted impressive numbers since its inception twelve months ago, and has enjoyed a robust 250%-500% sales gain quarter over quarter, with same store sales increases of approximately double what they were from this month last year. EYBB recently underwent an expansion of the existing floor plan which nearly doubled the seating space. While expanding the main seating room to accommodate twice the amount of guests, a multi-purpose room was added in the rear of the space. This room now accommodates regularly scheduled art shows, art features, and art releases, poetry readings, and musical performances. The room is also large enough to accommodate functions such as corporate or community meetings for up to 20 guests. In the fourth quarter, the business will undergo a product expansion where they will begin to offer hot and cold sandwiches, pancakes, and omelets.
Aside from solid sales growth, one the most impressive aspects of the business model is the owners' support of the emerging art scene in the area. On the heels of a very successful art show last month, the owners of EYBB plan to expand their support of local graffiti and street artists by featuring their works and offering them up for sale during art openings and week-long art gallery-style runs. While they regularly rotate art from their private collection in the main hall, the owners seek to expand on the use of the newly constructed multi-purpose room to allow for more emerging artists to showcase their work more regularly.
EYBB supports local educational organizations such as the Educated Little Monsters, a local after-school hip hop dance troupe and poetry group. They offer the meeting room for Community Boards to hold their biweekly Bushwick Development Meetings, and plan to host their upcoming first annual inception celebration this Sunday, October 12th, 2014.
