EXTRA Won Six Awards for Excellence in Hispanic Print Media
CHICAGO, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- EXTRA Bilingual Newspaper received an exceptional amount of Jose Marti awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications (NAHP) and its third award for "Outstanding Bilingual Language Weekly Newspaper," in its 30 years of publication.
EXTRA won six awards in the following categories:
- Gold Award "Outstanding Bilingual Language Weekly Newspaper"
- Gold Award "Outstanding Hispanic Success Story"
- Gold Award "Outstanding Section Design"
- Gold Award "Outstanding Media Kit"
- Gold Award "Outstanding News Event Photo Essay"
- Silver Award "Outstanding Cultural Photo"
EXTRA received the awards during the 25th annual NAHP convention in Albuquerque, NM from March 10 to 14. The convention hosts the largest gathering of Hispanic print media in the U.S.

Mila Tellez, EXTRA's publisher, was recognized at the convention for EXTRA's 30 years of dedication to the Latino community.

There were over 400 entries submitted in various categories from 50 publications across the nation to NAHP, including dailies, weeklies, bi-weeklies and monthlies. A panel of judges selected gold, silver and bronze awards for categories of general excellence, outstanding sections, editorial writing, design, photo, cartoon and marketing.
