Eyewear Startup Lensabl Secures New Funding Led by Amplify.LA and Luma Launch

LOS ANGELES, May 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Lensabl, the online lens replacement startup, announced today that it has secured new funding.  While terms of the deal were not disclosed, the funding was led by Amplify.LA and Luma Launch, along with angel investor JJ List.

In late 2016, Lensabl launched its online prescription lens service to make it simple and affordable for consumers to get new lenses in frames they already own. Essentially, consumers bypass the markups and wait times often associated with high-priced opticians and retailers like Lenscrafters. The site offers clear, tinted, and transitional prescription lenses for eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Since launch, Lensabl is experiencing 40% month over month growth. In addition to its core offering, the site has recently started offering non-prescription sunglass lenses as well as blue-light blocking "computer" lenses, which help combat eye strain and headaches stemming from extended computer, television, and phone use. While the company does not sell frames, Lensabl does have near term plans to offer an online eye exam, giving consumers a one-stop online destination for all optical needs.

Lenses start as low as $77 (shipping included) and can be purchased at www.lensabl.com.  Anti-reflective, scratch resistant, and UV coatings are included on all lenses, free of charge.
