Faithful+Gould Joint Venture Awarded IO&T Project At Fort Detrick, MD
DALLAS, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Americas-based leading project management consultancy, Faithful+Gould (www.fgould.com), as part of the BTF Solutions joint venture, has been awarded a $43-million contract at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases for the replacement laboratory at Fort Detrick.
BTF Solutions, a joint venture between Faithful+Gould and Balfour Resource Group, has been awarded the initial outfitting and transition (IO&T) contract of personnel and equipment into the nearly one million square feet of new laboratory space with multiple labs, administrative space and headquarters offices.
"Standing up a research environment is a complex undertaking requiring extensive expertise in research laboratory operations," said Ron Pruzinsky, vice president at Faithful+Gould and program manager for BTF Solutions. "BTF Solutions has in-depth knowledge and experience in major facility outfitting, medical logistics and healthcare supply chain for the military, commercial and international medical/non-medical providers."
During this 30-month contract, BTF Solutions will help transition essential personnel, critical functions including Biological Safety Level (BSL) 2, 3E, 4 facilities, Animal Biological Safety Level (ABSL) 2-4 facilities, as well as Aerobiology activities within containment laboratories. Special attention will focus on the planning for the movement of animals (non-human), Functional Operations Systems Test (FOST) Commissioning, Center for Disease Control (CDC) Certifications and activities associated with the use of Biological Select Agents and Toxins (BSAT).
BTF Solutions is currently performing full IO&T services at Camp Zama, Japan through 2015, Keller Army Community Clinic at West Point, NY, and have completed outfitting of the Consolidated Health and Dental Clinic at Fort Lee, VA.
