Family-Owned and Operated Insurance Agency, Short Associates, Celebrates 55 Years of Continued Service

FORT WAYNE, Ind., July 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Indiana-born Short Associates Inc. celebrates its 55^th year of business serving the greater Fort Wayne community. Short Associates was founded in 1962 by Donald L. Short, and further developed by son, Steve Short, who first began working in the agency in 1980 and became principal owner in 1998.

Over the years, Steve expanded the company beyond its original focus of life insurance, and added several property and casualty companies to better serve the needs of the community, including Erie  – making Short Associates one of the first Erie agencies in the Fort Wayne area. The family-owned and operated agency is now in the hands of its third generation, Amanda Swanson.

"Taking over management of the agency after the tragic passing of my father wasn't easy," Amanda Swanson said, "but I found my strength from my desire to continue to make him proud. Our family has focused on serving the needs of our clients/friends for over half a century and we intend to perpetuate that mission."
