Fastaff on Front Line of Ebola Preparedness and Response
Fastaff Assembles Rapid Response(SM) Nurses for Ebola Preparedness and Response Training
DENVER, Oct. 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Ebola remains a growing concern in the United States, and as a result, hospitals are in need of humanitarian nurses who want to join the fight at home. Fastaff, the leader in Rapid Response nurse staffing, has been chosen by a designated Ebola hospital to assemble a team of travel nurses who will be trained in Ebola preparedness, and remain on standby should more patients be admitted.
"Fastaff pioneered the practice of Rapid Response nurse staffing, so it was natural for us to fulfill this urgent request," said Allison Beer, CEO of Healthcare Staffing Services, the parent company of Fastaff Travel Nursing and US Nursing Corporation. She also added "We are honored to be entrusted with this important responsibility."
Fastaff is recruiting up to 30 ICU nurses who will be vigorously trained in personal protective equipment (PPE) and powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) use. The nurses will work routinely in the ICU unit, and would rotate into the isolation unit if additional Ebola patients are identified.
This opportunity is a chance for nurses who are interested in utilizing their skills to care for those affected by this disease.
The team of travel nurses also allows the hospital to continue quality patient care in the midst of preparing to house infectious disease patients.
