Fathers Incorporated Launches National Save Our Daughters Night

ATLANTA, March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, May 8th, 2015, the first annual NATIONAL SAVE OUR DAUGHTERS NIGHT will take place across the country. On this evening, various partners from education, faith-based, national and local nonprofits, individuals, families and community members are organizing to encourage fathers to find ways to spend more quality time with their daughters and to model healthy behaviors for them. According to Kenneth Braswell, Executive Director of Fathers Incorporated, "We've come to learn that quality time with our children is more valuable to their wellbeing than our money. With the recent devastating events around the country involving black boys and men we have to remember not to lose focus that it is equally important to invest our time and resources into issues concerning our girls."

The official website launches on Monday, March 2nd at noon at www.saveourdaughtersnight.com. The website will include a complete schedule of events and partners, resources and information (activity guide) to help the public plan events and activities.

Fathers Incorporated has planned several highlighted events to include:

• Beyond Silence and Violence Brief and Webinar – March 23^rd. Fathers Incorporated is releasing its brief entitled "Beyond Silence and Violence: Engaging Men in Advocacy Against and Prevention of Domestic Violence," co-written by Dr. Stacey Bouchet. "Fatherhood programs can lead and engage in multiple approaches to violence reduction because they have unique access to men in the larger community, which creates an opportunity to engage, inform, and educate them through primary prevention efforts before patterns of violence and control are established. These efforts can decrease community violence as well."
• National Prayer Call – May 7^th, 7am with Pastor Debra Morton, Pastor Christina Staton, Chris Broussard and Fred Hammond.
• Daddy Daughter Dance – May 8^th in Atlanta (Dunwoody) GA at the Crowne Plaza.
• The Black Bar BlogtalkRadio Series w/ host Kenneth Braswell – "Dialog About Daughters" Every Monday at 7pm beginning March 10^th at www.blogtalkradio.com/theblackbar. Special guests include: Dr. Jawanza Kujunfu, Dr. Jeff Gardere, Dr. Janet Taylor, Meshelle "Indie Mom" Shields, Lisa "Lee" Counts, Nisa Muhammad, Rachel Vassel, Toni Blackman and others.

The campaign coincides with the successful national activities surrounding Save Our Sons night earlier this month. Over 100 organizations in 60 cities participated in events and activities geared toward father and son relationships.
