Fathom Academy Announces Full Operation of First Indoor Swift Water Training Facility
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fathom Academy, www.fathomacademy.com is the first of its kind, indoor swift water rescue training center.
Located in Austin, Texas, Fathom Academy provides training for swift water rescue to first responders in an all indoor, controlled environment.

31 percent of deaths during swift water rescues are the rescuers themselves. Fathom Academy's training program is aimed at reducing that number and provides a controlled environment that allows for various training scenarios these first responders may encounter. These scenarios allow for repeated exercises that may be applied in real world rescues.
On August 21st, members of the Hawaiian National Guard training and assessment staff became the first to test the facility and committed to sending additional troops for Fathom training. Additional emergency response agencies continue to enroll.
Construction is complete and enrollment is open. In addition to swift water training courses, Fathom Academy provides various water courses such as swift water and commercial diving, infrastructure inspection, and a variety of other water safety courses and certifications. The facility may also be used for specific special operations training by request.
