BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., Feb. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled yesterday in favor of Exacta Systems in the patent infringement lawsuit originally filed by RaceTech. RaceTech filed the lawsuit in 2015, alleging that Exacta had violated three separate patents relating to RaceTech's Instant Racing product. After AmTote purchased RaceTech and its now invalidated patents in 2016, AmTote continued pursuing the three patent infringement claims against Exacta.
The Court of Appeals unanimously upheld the decision of the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, which dismissed all three RaceTech patent claims in an opinion issued last year. Barring a successful appeal to the United States Supreme Court, yesterday's decision will put an end to all patent related litigation between the parties.
