FEMA's Diesel Fuel Delivery Enables Hospital San Juan Capestrano to Remain Operational
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Sept. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Hospital San Juan Capestrano would like to commend FEMA for its fast response in delivering much needed fuel to our hospital. Serving 150 men and women with acute behavioral health needs, Hospital San Juan Capestrano was one day from running out of fuel when FEMA arrived at 8 o'clock at night with a military fuel tanker, as part of a 124,000 gallon delivery of diesel fuel to the island. "We are so grateful to the men and women in FEMA for responding to our needs. These patients require specialized 24/7 care, and can't be easily transferred to other hospitals. Thank you FEMA!" said Marta Rivera, CEO of Hospital San Juan Capestrano.
It's been a little more than a week since Hurricane Maria devastated the island, where the Hospital San Juan Capestrano staff have dedicated themselves to keep the patients safe and continue the hospital's operation.
