Fieldglass' Jai Shekhawat Named "CEO of the Year" Finalist in 2011 ITA CityLIGHTS Awards
Winner Will Be Chosen In Part by Public Voting Open Now Through April 29th
CHICAGO, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fieldglass, Inc., the leading technology provider to procure and manage contingent labor and services, today announced CEO Jai Shekhawat has been selected as a "CEO of the Year" finalist in the 2011 Illinois Technology Association (ITA) CityLIGHTS awards. Shekhawat is being recognized for his efforts in making Fieldglass a successful, sustainable and innovative company that well represents Chicago's technology community.
As one of Chicago's longest-tenured founder/CEOs, Shekhawat has grown Fieldglass into the undisputed leader in the services procurement industry, with more than 140 customers worldwide. Its award-winning SaaS platform is now used in more than 70 countries and is available in nine languages. In 2010, Fieldglass recorded its fifth consecutive year of profitability, achieved more than 50 percent revenue growth, and sold a majority interest to Madison Dearborn Partners for more than $220 million. Fieldglass was a finalist last year in the "Rising Star" category of the CityLIGHTS awards, is a 2008 Chicago Innovation Award winner, and has previously won "Most Innovative Company in North America" in the American Business Awards.
"I am thrilled to be recognized as a finalist in these awards, whose past winners including former mayor Richard M. Daley and Jack Noonan have such an impressive legacy in Chicago," said Shekhawat. "While it is an honor to be recognized as an individual, our success this past year is a direct result of the hard work of all our employees, who together form a culture of technology innovation at Fieldglass."
The CEO of the Year will be determined by a composite score of the results of a judging panel and online public voting. Votes can be submitted through April 29, 2011. The winner will be announced on May 12, 2011, at the CityLIGHTS Awards Gala, which attracts more than 700 business owners, investors, legislators and policymakers.
"There is a growing energy and momentum in the Illinois technology industry, and this is reflected in the record number, more than 200, and the quality of all CityLIGHTS Awards nominations this year," said ITA CEO Fred Hoch. "Nominees range from start-up companies to industry leaders, and we are extremely excited to see the organizations and individuals that rise to the top in 2011."
