Fiksu Indexes Record Decline in App Rank Competitiveness and Cost for Mobile App Marketing
For Mobile Marketers, July was a Less Expensive Month for Acquiring Loyal Users and Achieving Rank
BOSTON, Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiksu, Inc. (www.fiksu.com), the industry's first mobile app user acquisition platform that spans the entire mobile ecosystem, today reported marginal decreases in its Fiksu Indexes for July 2011. The Fiksu Indexes, which measure monthly fluctuations in competition for rank in the app stores, and the cost to acquire loyal users(1), help mobile app marketers benchmark their performance against industry averages.
The Fiksu App Store Competitive Index, which measures the average aggregate daily download volume of the Top 200 free iPhone apps in the U.S., recorded a month-over-month decline from 4.505 million app downloads per day in June to 4.25 million in July. Following four previous months of consecutive increases in the cost to acquire loyal users, the Fiksu Cost per Loyal User Index decreased by 5.5 percent from $1.27 in June to $1.20 in July.
"Competition for rank dipped slightly in July and mobile marketing budgets stretched a little further," said Micah Adler, CEO, Fiksu. "One reason could be the absence of incentivized promotions which many had been using to bulk buy downloads and boost rank. App marketers are now starting to reallocate budgets into non-incentivized promotions that can deliver a higher loyal user conversion rate at a lower net cost."
Data for the Fiksu Indexes was sourced from 2.7 billion mobile app actions – such as app launches, registrations and in-app purchases – recorded by apps marketed via the Fiksu for Mobile Apps user acquisition platform.
