On Tuesday, March 25th, new Finnish clothing label JULJA launched their Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for internationalization. JULJA has been chosen to join Made in Designland, a tour to showcase new and innovative Finnish design. Beginning July 2014, 50 cutting-edge companies will leave Finland for the U.S., touring for 18 months to showcase their products and services in pop-up shops, exhibitions, festivals and seminars. The tour represents the best in new Finnish design, software, technology and architecture.

To fund their participation in Made in Designland, JULJA has turned to crowdfunding, in an effort to raise funds necessary to design and produce collections for the tour, and arrange and attend their own fashion show. As incentive, JULJA is offering special campaign products, as well as clothes from their new collection, to promote support. In exchange for their investment, contributors towards JULJA's internationalization are rewarded with handwritten postcards, posters or an exclusive photoshoot day with team JULJA. The crowdfunding campaign also offers funders a unique chance to pre-order pieces from JULJA's 'Running from the dream' collection.
Crowdfunding is a relatively new phenomenon in Finland and its full potential has not yet been realized, especially within the fashion industry.
