F.I.R.E. Art Studios & Gallery: A conglomeration of different cultures in the true American Spirit, Opens door to public in the Historically Artsy Naperville
NAPERVILLE, Ill., Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The open house on 22nd December 2012, between 12:00 pm and 8:00 features Members' Art Show and a chance for anyone to participate in expressive public art projects designed especially to inspire the artist in everyone. Each of the F.I.R.E (Feel. Introspect. Rejuvenate.Express) artists have a unique way of expressing how the culture and environment they live in affects them as a person and as an artist, but they have one thing in common, a need to reconnect with people through their art.
Founder artists Merike Adams and Sujata Tibrewala come from Estonia, and India respectively. Both have lived in different parts of the world, before fate brought them to Naperville, IL. As working mothers, with family and work, exposure to different cultures and people have given them a rare insight to the functioning of this world. Barbara, Kelly, and Theresa have lived here in the US for most of their lives, but this does not make their experiences any less varied and rich.
Merike's art is all about connecting the past and the present, dreams and reality, man-made world and nature. Ancient legends, proverbs and songs are of great interest to her, and she includes them in her art to connect the modern with the old.
Sujata, an engineer turned artist, uses a mix of the spirituality and careful selection of symbols from across cultures to comment on socially relevant issues ranging from women's rights to shifting priorities of modern day existence to Quantum Consciousness.
Barbara Lipkin's paintings are well known for depicting small town settings from the Mediterranean with brilliant summer colors, depicting measured pace of life, and joyful spirits.
Kelly O'Connell from Two Rivers, Wisconsin, has an appreciation of nature, is a thinker and has his daydreams often show up in his paintings with his sharp and playful humor.
Theresa McGraw's work is colorful, intuitive, and playful and engages participants in the creative process rooted in heart-based teachings and unity consciousness, weaving in her love of nature and planet earth.
The artists at "F.I.R.E." Art Studios & Gallery truly dig deep to find the cosmos deep within each one of us, and help the visitors and workshop participants in their own journey to find answers...!!
