First Choice Searches for a Slide Tester for its All Inclusive SplashWorld Resorts

Want to test water slides for a living? 

First Choice announced today that it's searching the nation for a fun-loving waterpark enthusiast to take on the challenge of becoming its Slide Tester and test water slides for a living at its SplashWorld resorts.

With almost half of Brits (48%)* wishing their job was more exciting and over a third (37%) starting to think about applying for a new job in the New Year, the nationwide search for someone looking to take the plunge and get wet for a living couldn't come at a better time!

Previous Slide Tester Tommy has hung up his swimming shorts after doing the job for 4 years, so a passionate and enthusiastic new recruit is needed to judge the flumes, slides and pools at SplashWorld resorts for summer 2013. One lucky person will get the job of riding and rating water slides for a living across 20 SplashWorld resorts.

The Slide Tester will travel to sunny countries, a dream for many people with 39% of Brits revealing they would love to work in the sunshine and a further third (33%) saying that travelling to exotic locations would feature highly on their job wish list.

Aspiring Slide Testers can apply at http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/slidetester before 28th February 2013 and are encouraged to upload a video pitch lasting under 30 seconds - the average time it takes to ride a SplashWorld slide. They'll have to prove to the public that they have what it takes before facing a panel of expert judges at a SplashWorld overseas. 

Five of the best wannabe testers will be whisked away to a water park in April to battle it out for the role in a series of exciting challenges. The successful candidate will get to ride and rate the slides based on the 'biggest splash' and 'adrenalin factor' as part of the role, as well as share their experiences with First Choice holidaymakers via Twitter and Facebook.

The successful applicant will be given a six-month contract where they will get to test the slides and flumes at SplashWorld water parks in destinations including Majorca, Turkey and Egypt. In addition to a salary of £20,000 per annum (pro rata), all overseas travel expenses will be paid and the successful applicant will be given a seven-night holiday for two staying at a First Choice All Inclusive resort at the end of the six months.
