BOSTON, June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- First Trade Union Bank and Life is good are making life really good for select bank customers and Kids Foundation fundraisers. The Boston-based, full-service bank, and the lifestyle brand committed to spreading optimism and helping kids in need, have teamed up with RadioBDC to produce a three-concert series in the new Life is good Tavern, a vibe-setting feature of the company's new Seaport District office space. The series kicks off the evening of June 17 with recent New England Music Awards winner, The Aldous Collins Band. RadioBDC will have on-air ticket giveaways so lucky listeners can attend along with First Trade customers and Life is good VGPs (Very Good People) who have raised money for the Kids Foundation, a nonprofit established by Life is good to improve the lives of children in need.
"At First Trade, we're committed to being forward-thinking in our approach to banking and partnering with brands that have a similar mission," said Chris Tremont, the bank's Senior Vice President/Director of Marketing. "When Life is good moved into the Seaport, we saw an opportunity to work with a fun lifestyle company. The unique Tavern space sparked the concert series idea and once RadioBDC came on board, we knew we could create exceptional music experiences for friends and clients of the bank to enjoy."
The Aldous Collins Band is an indie-funk rising star that has shared stages with heavy-hitters like Grace Potter and Donavon Frankenreiter. As space is limited to 120 people, RadioBDC will release concert footage on the new BDCWire lifestyle and entertainment site and on boston.com. Event information is available at boston.com/tavernseries.
"We set out to create a unique space in our new office to bring people together. Live music, art shows and a gathering place for people to share ideas and discuss business is just the beginning," said Bert Jacobs, Chief Executive Optimist for Life is good. "This concert series is a great way to share the Tavern with friends and celebrate our new relationship with First Trade. This music series allows us to do something special for folks who've raised money for The Life is good Kids Foundation."
Guests will also be treated to food from Blue Dragon, celebrity chef Ming Tsai's Fort Point establishment, named one of the best new restaurants by Esquire Magazine, and complimentary drinks, including wine from 90+ Cellars.
The First Trade-Life is good partnership is the latest in a series of out-of-the-box moves by the bank and a sign of more of what's to come. Last year, First Trade partnered with mobile payments innovator LevelUp to be the first U.S. community bank to roll out a mobile payment app, and for the past several years, the bank has been at the forefront of full-service online and mobile banking technology launches, giving First Trade customers the ability to bank anytime, anywhere.
The 2014 Tavern Series will consist of three after-work concerts, with the next shows scheduled for later this summer and early fall. Those bands will be announced in the coming months.
